California Passes Resolution Declaring September 2025 as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

Big News for Childhood Cancer Awareness! 🎗️
We are thrilled to share that California Resolution SR-53, co-authored by Senator Dave Cortese and California Senator Susan Rubio, was officially passed on August 25th, declaring September 2025 as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month in California.
Childhood cancer remains the leading disease-related cause of death among children in the U.S., a reality we cannot ignore. By passing this resolution, California is taking a meaningful step to raise awareness, push for more research, and stand with the children and families who deserve better outcomes.
A huge shoutout to Misha Mehta for leading this initiative and bringing together advocates, including Mithil Prasad Foundation, KoaStrong Childhood Cancer Prevention Organization, Jacob's Heart Children's Cancer Support Services, researchers, and others, to amplify the ask.
