Meet Mithil
About Us
"Live Live Blissfully"
A profound message, isn’t it? These words were written by 10 ½ year old Mithil on a post-it note to hang at his mother’s cubicle. Soon, we all realized that these weren’t just words on paper but Mithil’s true philosophy. Even through his sickness, Mithil’s positivity never wavered, and he spread joy wherever he went.
Mithil, meaning “kingdom of Mithi,” was a name lovingly chosen by his big sister. Mithi, as we all called him, arrived during the holiday season on December 29, 2003. From the moment he could speak, he was a chatterbox, full of energy and animation. He could strike up a conversation with anyone, whether they were 2 or 75 years old. Mithi always made people laugh with his silly jokes and goofiness.eep your visitors engaged.
Mithil had a gift for encouraging everyone around him to do their best. He always saw the positive side of things. When someone was feeling down, he would put his arms around them and say, "It's going to be okay." He had a knack for lifting spirits, whether by engaging them in a spontaneous game or making them laugh with his goofy jokes. Mithil always knew how to make people feel better.
Mithil was a voracious reader, a big Star Wars fan, and loved playing with Legos, Minecraft, and Clash of Clans. Baseball was his favorite sport, and he was the starting pitcher for his team. Confident and outgoing, Mithil was also the "tech guru" of the family. On a trip to his grandparents' place, we noticed his gait was off. Initially thinking it was jet lag, we brushed it aside, but it worsened and led to a doctor's visit. On August 1st, 2015, our world was turned upside down when we were told that Mithil had DIPG - Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma. The prognosis of 6-8 months left us shocked and devastated.
For the next 16 months, Mithi fought fearlessly, striving to keep our lives as normal as possible. During this time, Mithil showed wisdom beyond his years, teaching us to stay positive in adversity, focus on abilities rather than disabilities, and finding joy in every small thing. Despite his own struggles, he remained empathetic, often expressing a desire to help others in similar situations. On November 27th, 32 days short of his 13th birthday, Mithil became an Angel. After his passing, we donated his brain and spine for medical research, hoping to aid in the fight against DIPG. Inspired by Mithil’s spirit and love for helping others, we started the Mithil Prasad Foundation.
Story Behind Our Logo
Wide arms, the token of warmth, love, and compassion, were Mithil’s signature move. For every occasion, he found a way to spread his arms. Whether it was for a group hug on his birthday, cheering on his baseball team, or simply celebrating a good day, Mithil never failed to share his warmth. His open arms, often captured in photos, were always accompanied by his sweet, joyful smile. Everything that Mithil’s open arms represented is what we strive for our foundation to embody, making it the perfect choice for our logo. Accompanying the wide arms are birds, symbolizing Mithil’s motto – Live life blissfully!
